2018 Mentoring Program: Mentee Application

The UTS Women in Business (UTS WiB) Autumn Mentoring Program was specifically created to facilitate an ongoing professional relationship between a senior student (Mentor) and a first-year student (Mentee). It is a program where the Mentors share their own personal knowledge, skills, information and experiences with their fellow Mentees in order to maximise their university wellbeing.

By participating as a Mentee in this program, you will develop integral and beneficial skills and experiences that will undoubtedly help you in your immediate degree, university life and future endeavours. We encourage all first year WiB members to apply.

Before applying to become a mentor, please ensure that you’re able to commit at least to one hour face-to-face meeting per fortnight.

Benefits

  • Fortnightly meetings with a senior student
  • Receive guidance in university activities and wellbeing
  • Application advantage in the Spring Mentoring Program

The UTS WiB Spring Mentoring Program is open to only penultimate and final year students with a minimum of Distinction average. The accepted students become Mentees with Mentors from our sponsorship companies of that year; mentors range from Graduates to Managers.

Successful Autumn Mentoring Program mentees will receive an application advantage when they choose to apply for the Spring Mentoring Program as they reach the final stages of their degree.

Mentors will be paired with 1-2 Mentees and meet on a fortnightly basis. These fortnightly meetings are to be arranged between the Mentors and Mentees personally. The program will run for an entire semester.

All participants are provided with a booklet which contains suggested meeting topics. At the end of the program, Mentors and Mentees will be asked to sign off a participation sheet, acknowledging their respective’s partners’ attendance and cooperation.
